The Supply Chain Initiative provides an efficient, cost effective and transparent solution to deal with alleged unfair trading practices. It is voluntary and tailored to the needs of businesses in the food supply chain.
The Initiative is open to companies of all sizes in the EU food & drink supply chain, including farmers, wholesalers, processors and retailers (including purchasing companies). The Initiative does not apply to companies in support services (eg. logistics, packaging, etc.).
Registration must be carried out by a top executive or a number of executives having the power to commit the whole company in the EU.
At the time of registration, companies confirm that:
If you are in the process of complying with the obligations set up in the Framework to implement the Principles of Good Practices, but are not fully ready, you are encouraged to signal your intent to sign up to the Initiative.
To do so, please download the letter of intent, fill it in and send it to the Secretariat.
At the time of formal registration, companies confirm that they have undertaken the necessary steps to comply with the Principles of good practice and the framework requirements. We expect that companies that have expressed their intent to sign up already, by sending us a letter of intent, will proceed to registration within 6 months.

Executive(s) having the power to commit the whole company in the EU
Registration must be by an executive or a number of executives having the power to commit the whole company in the EU including all subsidiaries in the EU, in accordance with each company’s corporate structure (i.e. more than one executive may need to sign the registration if no single executive has that power or registration of companies’ national subsidiaries is required).
A single contact person to communicate with the Governance Group of the Supply Chain Initiative.The contact person should have the power to communicate with all subsidiaries regarding the compliance with The Supply Chain Initiative and to give an authoritative reply to the Governance Group
If your company has a single person responsible for dispute resolution, choose "All countries in which we operate". If your company has local persons responsible for dispute resolution, fill in the data per country as many times as necessary.
